My Addiction...

My name is Karine and I collect Hockey cards with a passion. I've always loved hockey but moving from Québec to England made me realize how much I missed it. To keep me going in this strange land, I started collecting cards again like in the good old days. This website is dedicated to my collection or at least a part of it, feel free to leave comments if you want to.

I collect two players, two goaltenders to be exact. The first and most important one to me is Patrick Roy. He is and will always be the best goaltender the NHL has known. The second one, is Martin Brodeur. Another excellent French-Canadian goaltender and in my eyes, the next best thing after Patrick.

In time, i will add a complete list of my Brodeur collection but for now, the only completed list I have is my Roy one. I did not take the time to add values next to the cards for one main reason, the value of a card is relative. Something which Beckett deems worth $10 could be priceless to me...

Please take the time to look at my list and if you have some cards that I do not have, I will be more than happy to trade for them. Drop me a message on
www.sportscardforum.com and we'll work out a trade. My username on there is Pheebs888, I hope to see you there!

During my Christmas Holiday in 2009, I went back home to Québec and I was lucky enough to meet Patrick Roy not once but twice. The first time at the airport when my Roy jerseys were in my suitcase which had not turned up yet preventing me from getting the in person autographs I so desired. The second time however, was at the end of a Québec Remparts game which he coached. I waited hours after the game, but when he came out he signed both my Colorado Avalanche and my Montreal Canadiens jerseys as well as agreeing to pose for a picture.

The next big thing?

Being a Habs fan, i went to Edinburgh last September to see the Hamilton Bulldogs (the Habs farm team) play in the Gardiner Cup Tournament. One of the Dogs' players really impressed me: P.K. Subban. So much that i got him to sign my Bulldogs jersey and my husband got it framed for me last Christmas. After P.K.'s performance in the last playoffs, one can hope that he will take part in his first full NHL season this year and I might just have to start collecting him just so my framed jersey doesn't get lonely...

The Habs go to scoring guy during the playoffs showed us what he was made of during his first season in Montreal. For his second season, will he be given the "C" to wear? Who knows, but to me, Cammy came out of his first season with La Sainte-Flanelle like a true hero. Sweeter still was the fact that I won the jersey he autographed during his photoshoot with The Hockey News. Keep up the good work Cammy and I'm honored to have your jersey in my mini Habs hall of fame!
